So look at whatever fits your price range and interest, then look into upgrades, and you're set. For C18, my bud made a really strong deck out of Subjective Reality (topdeck) by making it superfriends, and his GF made a decent deck that really challenges us with Adaptive Enchangement (enchantments).

My friends did awesome with Faceless Menace (morph) straight out of the box, and Mystic Intellect (flashback) seemed fun as well. For C19, I bought and really liked the Merciless Rage deck (madness) but it takes a bit of skill to pilot it effectively because you have to be sneaky. I bought the Timeless Wisdom deck (cycling) and made it a good token deck, and my bud made a really good Enhanced Evolution deck (mutate) the Ruthless Regiment (humans matter) and Arcane Malestrom (spell slinging) seemed really like they'd be fun to pilot too. Magic the Gathering: Commander 2016 PRO-100 Deck Box - Kynaios and Tiro of. I guess for specific ones that I liked in my play group- ANY of the C20 seem really fun. FACELESS MENACE VS MERCILESS RAGE UPGRADE
You really can make pretty much ANY of the precons a 6/7 level deck pretty easily and there's TONS of upgrade primers out there for them. I know this seems like a non answer ("just pick what you like.*eyeroll*), but truly, you can't go wrong with any of them if you're just looking to have fun, so looking at what the themes are and picking your interest is the way to go.

There's tons of $25 precon upgrades to make them more competitive.

The C20/C19/C18 are all good, and for now, they're all pretty cheap. They're all constructed very well, so your best bet is to just look at the themes and see if any of them interest you.
